First-Year Academic Advising
At Texas College each first-year student is assigned a specially trained first-year advisor. These advisor's assist the
student in discovering their potential as they choose their classes. Working with the student the advisor helps dispel false
perceptions students have about thier abilities.
First-Year Seminar
The First Year Seminar is designed to give the student tools in becoming successful at Texas College. The instructors
lecture on college life, academic challenges, and interpersinal relationships.

Tutorials
Tutoring services for every academic field offered at Texas College, allows students to sharpen their academic skills
and improve their grades. We provide group and individual tutoring, on line tutoring, and computer based labs
in the core areas.
Early Alert System
By identifying potential at-risk students, we can monitor the students progress and prevent poor attendence and low grades.
This approach to sustainablity comfronts potential dropouts with an encounter of hope and attempts to redirect them to the
path of academic success.
